About Near Big Bear
Near Big Bear is an independent guide to Big Bear Lake, Snow Summit and the towns around them, for people planning a ski trip, a summer weekend on the lake or anything in between.
What we cover and how
Place pages list where to stay, eat and rent gear near each location, nearest first. Best lists rank restaurants, pizza places, hikes and things to do with a score out of 10, and review pages cover one business at a time.
Jenna Whitcomb builds the place pages and the Best lists. Marcus Delgado checks every review and ranking before it is published: that addresses, distances and what a business offers match its own site, and that each score follows the criteria printed on the page.
Facts come from each business's own website, OpenStreetMap and the US Forest Service. Public reviews are read, never copied. The method is on the How we rank page.

How this site is paid for
The site is free to read, and no business pays to be listed, reviewed or ranked. Some links on the site, in the strip at the top of every page and on the place guides, lead to property management and host automation services for owners of vacation rentals.
Corrections
If a fact on a page is wrong — a business has closed, changed its name or changed what it offers — tell us through the contact page. We recheck it against the business's own website and update the date on the page.
